Founded in 2003, upon the close of Hansen, Boyd, Culhane & Watson, the law firm of Boyd & Kimball, LLP continues the Hansen, Boyd tradition of service to clients, the Bar and the community. Founding partners, David E. Boyd and Betsy S. Kimball, each have more than 25 years of practice experience. In 2011, Bob Wilson joined Boyd & Kimball, LLP and in 2012 the name was changed to Boyd, Kimball & Wilson, LLP. Boyd, Kimball & Wilson fuses this experience with a seasoned staff to provide its clients with quality legal services, designed to achieve each client’s goal in a cost-efficient manner. In 2012, David Boyd transistioned out of the practice of law and into mediation and consulting. The firm name became Kimball & Wilson, LLP.

Betsy S. Kimball is a certified as specialist in legal malpractice law by the State Bar of California’s Board of Legal Specialization. Legal specialization is the method approved by the California Supreme Court for certifying attorneys as specialists in particular areas of law. California attorneys who are certified as specialists have taken and passed a day-long written examination in their specialty field, demonstrated a high level of experience in the specialty field, fulfilled ongoing education requirements, and been favorably evaluated by other attorneys and judges familiar with their work.

Betsy S. Kimball is certified as a specialist in legal malpractice law by the State Bar of California’s Board of Legal Specialization. As specialists in legal malpractice law, Betsy handle all phases of legal malpractice litigation and malicious prosecution (including SLAPPs). She also counsel attorneys in malpractice avoidance, ethics insurance matters, risk management, including avoidance or resolution of disciplinary matters and fee disputes. Betsy is available to offer expert consultation on matters within her specialty.
Lead by Betsy S. Kimball, Kimball & Wilson, LLP has decades of experience handing appeals and writs. Betsy is one of a small number of private practice attorneys in the Central Valley who are certified as specialists in appellate law by the State Bar of California’s Board of Legal Specialization. Betsy was first certified as a specialist in appellate law in 2005 and then re-certified in 2010.
Betsy S. Kimball is a long-serving arbitrator for the Sacramento County Superior Court and a mediator for the California Court of Appeal, Third Appellate District. Sacramento is located in the Third Appellate District of the California Court of Appeal.
Robert M. Wilson has acted as a Sacramento County Superior Court Settlement Conference Pro Tem from 1989 to the present. He has also participated as an Early Neutral Evaluator for the United States District Court, Eastern District of California.
